Working Principle of Rotary Twin Screw Pump
A screw pump is made up of various components such as; a casing, a screw bearings, a seal, a motor adapter and a drive shaft. Screw pumps are quite simple in construction.. The Tw-Series Rotary twin-screw pump is a positive displacement pump with two intermeshing screws rotating in a pump casing insert. As the pump rotates, the intermeshing of the two contra-rotating screws, along with the pump housing, form volumetric chambers. These chambers fill with the pumped fluid and move it axially from the suction side of the pump to the higher pressure discharge side of the pump. Maintenance is simplified and process uptime increased
Rotary Twin Screw pump operate using two counter-rotating screw rotors which are engineered so that they rotate “towards each other”. This traps the gas in the space between the “screws” of their rotors. As the screws rotate, this trapped volume decreases which not only compresses the gas but moves it towards the exhaust. Designed for process flexibility, the Twin Screw Pump is built on a robust, reliable platform that meets stringent hygienic standards. It is capable of handling both product transfer and Cleaning-in-Place (CIP).
